Oil cleansing method: Weeks 1 & 2

There is a ton of information available online about the oil cleansing method. There are several great sites for information, but the ones I found that I liked best were mommypotamus, crunchy betty, and wellness mama. These three have well done tutorials and also give a little insight on what to expect. I’m not going to try to reinvent the wheel, so please feel free to check them out.

I am currently using organic olive oil with a couple drops of tea tree essential oil. My cleansing steps are:
1. Pour a quarter size drop of oil into palm
2. Rub over face in small circular motions with finger tips
3. Run hot water over wash cloth until it is very hot, but not scalding, squeeze out excess water and lay over face. Repeat this several times.
4. Use washcloth to wipe off excess oil
5. Use an apple cider vinegar toner to remove any dirt on the skin’s surface

I will do my best to find time to post weekly pictures on how this is (hopefully) improving my skin. So far I am experiencing much less dry skin and less blemishes. I have less of an urge to scratch at old blemishes since they aren’t dry and itchy. The first week I did not use apple cider vinegar toner. I noticed after I started using it my skin tone improved and dark spots were fading more quickly. Again I hope this is a trend that continues.
